Description:
Cardamom Seed Oil is derived from herbs within two genera of ginger family Zingiberaceae, namely Elettaria and Amomum. It has sweet, spicy & almost balsamic in fragrance and is clear to pale yellow in color as well as slightly watery in viscosity. An important ingredient in Asian cooking, the essential oil is extracted by steam distillation process from seeds of fruit gathered just before they are ripe.
History:
Cardamom was well known in ancient times. The Egyptians used it in perfumes and incense and chewed it to whiten their teeth. The Romans used it for their stomachs when they over-indulged. The Arabs used it ground in their coffee. It is an important ingredient in Asian cooking.

Aroma : Cardamom Essential Oil is sweet, spicy and almost balsamic in fragrance.
Constituents:
a-pinene, sabinene, b-pinene, myrcene, limonene, 1,8-cineole, a-phellandrene, y-terpinene, p-cymene, linalool, linalyl acetate, terpinolene, terpinen-4-oil, citronellol, nerol, geraniol, a-terpineol, a-terpineol acetate, methyl eugenol and trans-nerolidol.
Uses:
Cardamom seed oil is particularly helpful for digestive system and works as laxative in soothing colic, wind, dyspepsia & nausea (Even nausea in pregnancy). It also warms stomach and helps with heartburns. Having a refreshing and uplifting effect, the oil’s expectorant properties help clear coughs as well as a well-known remedy for impotence & low sexual response.
